Taking care of your shoes

PU leather (bycast leather)

Characteristics

Resilient to temperature changes, water resistant.

Care

For light stains, wipe gently with a wet cloth. Mild detergent may be used. Do not use alcohol or benzine as they may damage the fabric.

Storage

Store in a shaded and cool environment. If possible, store with a drying agent to minimize the effects of humidity.

Nap material (such as suede or nubuck)

Characteristics

Resilient to temperature changes, water resistant, porous. Some color fading may occur.

Care

For light stains, brush lightly with a suede brush. For darker stains, wipe with a wet cloth. Mild detergent may be used.

Store in a shaded and cool environment. If possible, store with a drying agent to minimize the effects of humidity.

Patent leather

Characteristics

Resilient to temperature changes, water resistant. More susceptible to scratches

Care

For light stains, wipe gently with a wet cloth. Mild detergent may be used. Do not use alcohol or benzine as they may damage the leather.

Storage

Store in a shaded and cool environment. If possible, store with a drying agent to minimize the effects of humidity.

Water-repellent shoes (not waterproof)

Care

Nap material (such as suede or nubuck)–Brush outwards with a rubber or nylon suede brush. For stains that cannot be removed by brushing, use a suede eraser.

What to do if caught in the rain

Care

Remove moisture with a dry cloth and place in the shade with a desiccant. Do not place in direct sunlight or use a heating agent.

Cleaning stains inside the shoe

Care

For stains and marks in the side and sole of the shoe, rub gently with a suede eraser.

PU leather (bycast leather)

Care

Gum stuck to the shoe can be hard to remove. Remove as much as possible with paper. Using a cloth, lightly rub with shoe cleaner to remove the remainder.
